Some days are good, others...
are SPECTACULAR!

Yesterday was one of the spectacular kind. We have been having seriously crazy and expensive car trouble as of late and have finally given up on the big car. It is a Honda CR-V. It was always a wonderful car to have, particularly with the dogs, but I must admit to always disliking the near SVU nature of it. Now, we got it because the car we drove out here with, a Honda Civic, did a wonderful job getting us out here but we traded cars with my mom, she had the CR-V, for a reason. I do not currently remember that reason but I am sure there was one. Then, my mom drove the Civic back to KC and gave the car to a family friend who was in need of such a vehicle. The CR-V served us well for 3 and half years but recently began eating money. Chomp chomp chomp.

So, yesterday, as the fuel gauge reached empty we pulled up to the Honda dealership in Huntington Beach and left 2 hours later in this:

This is Starbuck, our new car. She is a 2008! Honda Fit. They are apparently one of the most popular cars worldwide but were never sold in the US until now. It is a reasonable car and was actually cheaper than many of the used Civics. Very nice. It even has an mp3 jack. I like that.

That is awesome. I love the color. And I don't know if parking there is anything like parking here, but I bet it will be a joy to parallel park. It will be so much easier to find a spot. I want a new car too! You will have to tell me how this one works out for you. Maybe I will buy a 2009 model!

Yay! You commented! I have not read your lovely words in such a length of time I almost forgot the joy they bring to me!

I love the car. We have already experienced the great joy of parallel parking in the smaller car. It is wonderful. It is a small, compact car but almost as roomy as a wagon-type deal. Not quite as roomy as Arthur Weasley's enchanted Ford Anglia, but roomy enough for us.

What? You don't know about Arthur Weasley's enchanted Ford Anglia? Oh, that's right, you never read Harry Potter. Maybe should. Very good books.

You should totally get one of these cars. It is wonderful. We wanted a black one but they were $500 more just because the black is more popular. Stupid supply and demand crap. Actually, I think I am even happier with the silver.

Well, I am currently in the process of writing you a lengthy email! Really, I am just taking short break to respond here!

Also, I don't think that color looks silver-- I think it is charcoal, which is my favorite car color. A deep charcoal or slate.

I spend too much time thinking about car colors for someone who drives her car about once every 10 days. Yay public transportation!

I am very excited about the e-mail! The color is officially "Storm Silver". I think I like charcoal, too. You are funny. I am so jealous that you hardly drive. That must be wonderful.

Thanks! The best part is knowing that it will not go kaput on the way to teach. But I must admit I like it a lot.
